Thrift Picks- DFW Edition

So late last month I bought a rug for the house on eBay from a dealer in Southlake, close to Fort Worth. Needless to say, I thought it would be a great idea to waive the $29 shipping fee, pick the rug up myself, and get a weekend of Dallas-Fort Worth picking under my belt. Definitely saving money! 😐
So I took my husband’s hatchback Mazda6 and hightailed it to Fort Worth. I decided to go the unbeaten path (junk shops) first. Imagine my surprise when I immediately found a set of 6 Art Deco dining chairs in the style I had been wanting for only $100! Clearly it was going to be a good weekend. Here are the chairs lined up in pretty little rows awaiting refinishing (doing myself with an oil finish , they’re solid mahogany with brass feet, likely French) and new fabric (splurging with the pros):

And here they are crammed in the back of the car two weeks ago:

Despite this insane mess I was also able to fit the 9×12′ rug and lots of other goodies for the shop in the car. Awesome vintage finds, Kolaches from West, and my annual Braum’s made the weekend trip a resounding success. Without further ado, onto the picks!
